Canvas
Canvas: my assignment won't submit
If Canvas won't let you turn in an assignment, try these steps in order.
1. Check the dates. If the assignment is locked or past its "Available until" date, there's no Submit button. Only your teacher can reopen it, so ask them.
2. Make sure it went through. After you click Submit Assignment, the right side of the page should say Submitted with the date and time. If it doesn't, it wasn't turned in.
3. Check your file. Make sure it's the type your teacher asked for (for example PDF or Word), and wait until it has finished uploading before you click Submit.
4. Refresh and try again. Reload the page, or sign out of Canvas and back in.
5. Try another way in. If you're using the Canvas app, try the Canvas website in your browser, or the other way round. On a school Chromebook, use Canvas in Chrome.
6. Check your Wi-Fi. A weak connection can stop uploads part way.
If it still won't submit, take a screenshot of what you see and send it to your teacher, so they know you tried before the deadline.
Contact IT: if Canvas shows an error message or keeps failing, submit a ticket with the screenshot and the name of the class and assignment.
