Chromebooks
A website or extension is blocked on my school Chromebook
School Chromebooks only open websites that IT has approved for school. If a page says it's blocked, your Chromebook isn't broken. That site just hasn't been approved yet.
What you can do
1. Check the website address is spelled right.
2. If it's for a class, ask your teacher whether it should be approved.
3. Contact IT: submit a ticket with the full website address (for example https://www.example.com) and which class it's for. Only IT can approve a website. Teachers can submit it for you.
4. Once IT tells you it's approved, close Chrome and open it again (or restart the Chromebook).
Extensions and apps
You can't install Chrome extensions or apps on a school Chromebook. The ones your classes need, like Clever, Zoom and Formative LockDown Browser, are installed for you. If one is missing, restart your Chromebook. If it's still missing, submit a ticket.
Use Canvas in the Chrome browser. The Canvas app isn't available on school Chromebooks.
