Macs
Mac not connecting to Wi-Fi
1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar (top right of screen)
2. Turn Wi-Fi off, wait 10 seconds, then turn it back on
3. Look for the QAS network (or your network name) in the list and click it
4. Enter the password if prompted and click Join
Contact IT if: the school network asks for a password you don't have. School Wi-Fi is set up by IT, so don't guess.
5. Wait 30 seconds for the Mac to connect. You should see "Connected" next to the network name
6. Verify connection: open System Settings > Wi-Fi and confirm the network shows "Connected"
If it still doesn't work:
7. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar, then click "Wi-Fi Settings"
8. Right-click the network name you're trying to connect to and select "Forget This Network"
Only do this for a home network. Don't forget the school network: it's set up by IT, and you may not be able to rejoin it yourself. If the school network is the problem, contact IT.
9. Restart your Mac: Click the Apple menu > Restart
If your Mac asks for an administrator password at any point, stop and contact IT.
10. After restart, reconnect to the Wi-Fi network by clicking the Wi-Fi icon and selecting the network
11. If the issue persists after restart, submit a ticket with your Mac's name and the network name
